In the past two weeks, Ryan and I have been very busy with moving, doctor visits, medical testing and unplanned hospital stays so I just wanted to apologize first for not being able to provide everyone a more timely update.  However, once you read our top eight (eight because Ryan is eight) list of miraculous events that have occurred, I hope you will forgive me:

TOP EIGHT BLESSINGS

  1. We have an awesome garage sale today and sold almost everything.  The house has been cleaned and ready for its new owners.
  2. We moved into our new apartment on February 1, 2012 and have unpacked the last box of stuff.
  3. Ryan and I used the shuttle service last week and it was awesome to not have to find or pay for parking in the medical center.
  4. We got Ryan back into the HISD homebound program and Mr. Gonzalez came out this week for tutoring.  OK - this one is all about me.  Ryan is not to happy about doing homework again.
  5. We sold our house and made it through the 10-day option period.  We close on March 7, 2012.
  6. After spending two weeks in the hospital, through the power of prayer, Ryan's fever finally broke and he was able to come home.
  7. Through the various efforts of Ernst & Young, our friends, and our church, over 600 people were added to the National Bone Marrow Registry so far and several other bone marrow drives are planned.  400+ were just from my colleagues at Ernst & Young.
  8. We found a bone marrow donor for Ryan.  All we know right now it that its a 36-year old male.  Ryan's donor will need to go through various medical testing before the transplant can be performed but if all goes well, Ryan will have his transplant in the next 3-4 weeks.
We have been truly blessed lately and things have come together in the past two weeks that we feel could have only happened through GOD's grace and providence.  Praise GOD.

As for me, because of everything that has been going on, I had to postpone my surgery until February 27, 2012.  Until we receive the pathology reports (post surgery), we will not know whether chemotherapy and/or radiation will be necessary.
